Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) can be found in healthy children and adolescents as well as those with underlying heart disease. Most children who experience SVT can live a normal life without restrictions and with early medical care and treatment can live a higher quality of life. Since SVT is becoming a relatively common condition in children and young adults, it is beneficial for providers to be educated in the signs and symptoms as well as how best to treat and monitor the severity of the condition in younger years before the condition may become more complex.
