Description

Providing the best surgical, medical and rehabilitative care for our elder fracture patients is a challenge and an opportunity. Attend the 2020 Geriatric Orthopaedic Fracture Conference and learn novel and evidence-based strategies for meeting these challenges. The conference, in its ninth year, will provide up-to-date information and tools for effective collaboration among providers whose elder patients have sustained a fracture. Fracture prevention, osteoporosis evaluation and treatment, and rehabilitation issues will be addressed. The conference format will be interactive and will include large and small group sessions. In addition, there will be a patient panel and a multi-media presentation of recommendations and tips from geriatric orthopedic specialists from around the world! View agenda.

Audience

This course is ideal for orthopaedists, primary care physicians, geriatricians, hospitalists, and other allied health professionals who care for geriatric orthopaedic patients.

Educational Objectives

Following completion of this activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Identify current guidelines to provide optimal osteoporosis treatment for elderly patients following fracture and prior to elective orthopaedic procedures.
  • Identify current algorithms for pain management in older patients post-fracture.
  • Identify collaborative strategies for disparate specialties to work together.
